“I define a leader as anyone who takes responsibility for finding the potential in people and processes, and who has the courage to develop that potential. We have to be vigilant about creating a culture in which people feel safe, seen, heard, and respected.
Daring leaders must care for and be connected to the people they lead. If the culture in our school, organization, place of worship, or even family requires armor because of issues like racism, classism, sexism, or any manifestation of fear-based leadership,
we can’t expect wholehearted engagement.”
– Dr. Brené Brown
Mentoring promotes professional growth.
So many colleagues and friends of mine work in this field day after day and often find themselves wanting to be more deeply engaged and inspired. We talk about consistently wanting more in terms of leadership and vision.
I often end up talking with my junior colleagues about career projection, strategic planning, and exploring different courses of action that may align more with their integrity and values.
According to Forbes, studies show that good mentoring can lead to greater career success, including promotions, raises, and increased opportunities.
Having learned lessons from the amazing clinicians before me, I can attest to the importance and value of mentorship to evolve and grow into your best (professional) self!
Shared experiences help expand your vision.
There are very few things I love more than mentoring and leadership. I find the energy of growth and curiosity both fantastic and inspiring.
In the last 15+ years, much of my career has involved working with young clinicians and professionals, problem-solving, and dreaming of a better way to “do” mental health care. I love sharing my experiences in the field, and I take my relationships with colleagues and friends very much to heart.
I’m happy to say that I currently offer career coaching and clinical supervision sessions. These are generally 50-minute sessions at my current hourly rate.
Email me today if you are interested in mentorship, supervision, and networking – let’s see if we are a right fit!
